About Dungarpur — A Brief History

Dungarpur sits in the southern tip of Rajasthan, in the rocky Aravalli hills where the state meets Gujarat. The town was founded in 1282 by Rawal Veer Singh, a Sisodia prince of Mewar, who broke away from his elder brother and established the small Vagad kingdom around the Gaib Sagar lake.
